This is a map I pulled off the PCTA website showing the trail as it wanders through California, Oregon and Washington. In general it is about 18 inches wide, passes through State and National Parks, BLM and Forest Service lands, as well as a few parcels of private land where land owners have given permission for us to pass through. It is open to foot and hoof travel, though no wheeled travel. Some say it will take 6 million steps to get from the Mexican border to Canada. If your legs are short, well you can only imagine...

I plan to set foot on the trail sometime in the early morning hours of April 15, 2012. If all goes well I hope to cross into Canada on or near my birthday in late September... about five and a half months. If all doesn't go well, I'll get as far north as I can and come back the next year to finish! No matter what, it will be an adventure.
